Gyms co-owned by Houston Texans sold to expanding Dallas chain

Texans Fit, a chain of gyms formed by the Houston Texans and M6 Football in 2020, has been sold to EoS Fitness as part of the Dallas-based chain's ambitions for national expansion. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With the addition of the Texans Fit locations, EoS Fitness has more than 100 locations open or scheduled to open across Arizona, Florida, Nevada, California, Texas and Utah, according to a company statement. The chain began in Arizona and Nevada in 2015 and opened its first Texas location in Euless in January. It has a Spring location scheduled to open in April.

M6 was formed by Mark Mastrov, founder and former chairman of 24 Hour Fitness, and formed similar partnerships with other National Football League teams.

“As we continue to evolve as an organization, we are always evaluating our business ventures and looking for new opportunities,” Houston Texans President Greg Grissom said in an emailed statement. “We received a great offer to buy our position in Texans Fit that we strongly considered and ultimately determined selling was the best decision for us at this time."

EoS plans to open Texans Fit Locations in Richmond and in Houston by Allen Parkway and Gillette Street this year, according to the statement. That adds to the Texans Fit's locations in Katy, Rosenberg and Meyerland.

“Texans Fit has instilled a culture of health and fitness in the Houston area, and we look forward to carrying that on with a new focus on offering a premium fitness experience that’s both affordable and accessible to all,” EoS CEO Rich Drengberg said in a statement.

EoS plans to open more than 50 gyms in the next five years in the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth areas. The company moved its headquarters to Dallas last spring in anticipation of its rapid growth in Texas, according to Drengberg's emailed statement.

All of the approximately 120 employees at Texans Fit gyms have the option to remain employed through EoS Fitness, according to the statement.
